Give More Than Qurbani This Eid ul Adha
Give Someone a Chance to Live
“Neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah but it is your piety that Him” Surah Hajj 22:37
The verse beautifully reminds us that Eid ul Adha is not just about the act of sacrifice, but the intention behind it. True Qurbani lies in sincerity, compassion, and the willingness to give for the sake of others. It is a call to look beyond ritual and do something for humanity, where our sacrifices become a source of hope, healing, and support for those in need.
Eid ul Adha is not only a sacred Islamic occasion. It is a reminder that faith is tested through patience, sacrifice, and unwavering trust in Allah SWT. Across Karachi, families prepare for Qurbani while thousands of patients at JPMC continue their fight for survival, hoping for treatment that can save their lives.
At Patients’ Aid Foundation, your generous donations this Eid ul Adha make free healthcare services such as medicines, dialysis sessions, cancer treatment, surgeries, and emergency care possible for people who arrive at Jinnah Hospital with nothing except hope.

The Spiritual Meaning of Eid ul Adha
Eid ul Adha is known as the Festival of Sacrifice. Its foundation lies in one of the most moving moments in Islamic history, the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail.
After years of heartfelt duas, Prophet Ibrahim AS was blessed with a son, Ismail AS. Then came a recurring dream, a command from Allah SWT instructing him to sacrifice his beloved child. For any human being, this would feel impossible. Yet a Prophet of Allah SWT does not turn away from divine command.
Allah SWT says in the Quran: “Then when they submitted ˹to Allah’s Will˺, and Abraham laid him on the side of his forehead ˹for sacrifice˺, We called out to him, “O Abraham!, You have already fulfilled the vision.” Indeed, this is how we reward the good-doers.” Surah As-Saffat 37:103-105
At the final moment, Allah SWT replaced Ismail AS with a ram sent from heaven. The sacrifice was never about loss. It was about obedience, sincerity, and complete submission to Allah (swt)’s will . That lesson still lives within every Muslim today.
Eid ul Fitr & Eid ul Adha – Carrying Divine Rewards
Just as Eid ul Fitr arrives after thirty days of fasting, resisting hunger, controlling desires, and seeking forgiveness during Ramadan, Eid ul Adha also arrives with deep spiritual significance. Ramadan carries the blessing of Laylatul Qadr, a night described in the Quran as:
“Better than a thousand months.” Surah Al-Qadr 97:3
A thousand months equals more than 83 years of worship.
After a month of fasting, Muslims receive Eid ul Fitr as a celebration of endurance, patience, and nearness to Allah SWT. In the same way, Eid ul Adha arrives carrying the message of sacrifice, trust, and surrender to Allah’s wisdom.
Both Eids teach believers that hardship is temporary, but reward from Allah SWT never goes unnoticed.
If you wish to turn your sacrifice into healing for your loved one struggling with illness, donate to Patients’ Aid Foundation at JPMC Karachi and help fund lifesaving treatment.
What Prophet Ibrahim AS Teaches Us About Modern Day Struggles
Most people today may never face a trial like Prophet Ibrahim AS, but daily life still carries painful tests.
Over 75% families in Pakistan struggle with:
| Daily Hardships in Pakistan | How Patients’ Aid Helps at JPMC |
| Cancer diagnosis & treatment expenses | Free world class CyberKnife and oncology support |
| Kidney failure and dialysis costs | Free Dialysis assistance and nephrology care |
| Childbirth complications | Free Maternal healthcare and C-sections |
| Mental health struggles | Free Psychiatry and behavioral support |
| Emergency accidents | 24/7 Accident and Emergency care treating 2000 patients/ day |
| Thalassemia and chronic illness | Blood bank and continuous treatment |
At times people silently carry burdens nobody sees. A father unable to afford medicines. A mother waiting outside a ward praying for her child. A cancer patient delaying treatment because finances have collapsed.
Still, Muslims are taught never to lose hope.
When Prophet Ibrahim AS trusted Allah SWT completely, Allah replaced the sacrifice with mercy. In the same way, many patients at JPMC survive because Allah creates pathways through the generosity of donors who give Sadaqah, Zakat, and Khairat to Patients’ Aid Foundation.
- Sometimes one donation becomes someone’s chemotherapy session.
- Sometimes it becomes dialysis that keeps a patient alive another week.
- Sometimes it becomes the surgery that saves a child.
Faith never returns empty-handed.
The First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah and the Day of Arafah
The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are among the holiest days in Islam. These days carry immense spiritual reward and are deeply connected with Eid ul Adha and Hajj. The Day of Arafah falls on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, one day before Eid ul Adha and before the pilgrims perform the major rites of Hajj.
Day of Arafah is considered one of the greatest days in Islam, similar to how Laylatul Qadr is the most sacred night in Ramadan.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” Sahih al-Bukhari
During these ten days, rewards for worship are multiplied.
Important Acts of Worship During Dhul Hijjah
- Nafl prayers
- Five daily Namaz
- Roza especially on the Day of Arafah
- Sadqa
- Zakat
- Khairat
- Quran recitation
- Dhikr and Istighfar

Why Charity During Eid ul Adha Matters More Than Ever?
Eid ul Adha is remembered through Qurbani, but sacrifice is not limited to animals alone. Muslims are also taught to sacrifice from their wealth for the sake of Allah SWT.
Everything we own belongs to Allah.
Just as Prophet Ibrahim AS obeyed without hesitation, believers are encouraged to give without fear that charity decreases wealth.
In Pakistan, many families cannot afford even basic healthcare. Reliable charitable healthcare organizations are difficult to find, especially those that maintain transparency and consistent patient support. This is where the Patients’ Aid Foundation operating within JPMC continues its humanitarian mission. Since 1990, the foundation has supported millions of deserving patients through free medical care, advanced diagnostics, emergency services, dialysis, cancer treatment, psychiatry, radiology, gynecology, and surgeries.

At JPMC, treatment is not determined by financial status.
Patients’ Aid Foundation helps support over 20 departments including:
- OPD and surgical complex
- Chest Ward

This Eid ul Adha, your Qurbani can continue beyond meat distribution. It can become medicine for a struggling patient, blood for a thalassemia child, dialysis for a kidney patient, or emergency treatment for an accident victim.
Keep Charity Alive Beyond Ramadan & Eid
The spirit of sacrifice should not look for special occasions.
Humanitarian work survives because people continue giving even after celebrations fade away. Patients battling chronic illness do not stop needing treatment after Eid. Cancer does not pause. Dialysis patients cannot skip sessions. Emergency wards do not become empty.
That is why ongoing charity matters.
Every donation given to Patients’ Aid Foundation at JPMC Karachi helps continue a system where healthcare reaches people who would otherwise remain untreated.
Your contribution may seem small to you, but to someone lying in a hospital bed waiting for treatment, it may feel like Allah SWT answered a prayer they whispered with tears.
This Eid ul Adha, give not only from tradition but from conviction. Give because sacrifice is woven into Islam. Give because survival should never depend on wealth. Give because somewhere inside JPMC, someone is still waiting for relief to arrive.
