Description
CyberKnife is a robotic, cutting-edge technology that uses a high cancer-killing dose of radiation in a precise, painless, and non-invasive manner.
Patients’ Aid introduced Cyberknife to JPMC in 2012, making it the first facility in the nation, and the only free cyberknife facility on the planet. Over 5000 successful sessions of cancer patients have been conducted so far. The treatment costs around $50,000 – $90,000 per patient internationally, but with Patients’ Aid Foundation’s help, it is available to those in need absolutely free.
The Oncology Department of JPMC has treated 104,000 cancer patients in 2023-24. However with growing number of Cancer patients the need for providing for their chemotherapy, which is an expensive treatment not many can afford, is increasing.
