These account for approximately 75% of Karachi’s emergency cases.

The number of patients is expected to increase to approximately 5000 patients/ year in next 5 years.

12 Story Emergency Tower at JPMC – Build Lifesaving Care for Generations

A transformative healthcare initiative designed to deliver state-of-the-art emergency and surgical care to the marginalized accident & emergency patients.

It will reduce surgical wait times resulting in lower mortality rates from trauma and emergencies and improved postoperative recovery.

Will serve citizens of Karachi (a city with a population of over 22 million lacks proportional expansion of emergency and surgical infrastructure to match its growth).

Along with patients travel from Interior Sindh and Balochistan to access tertiary care due to inadequate local emergency and surgical facilities. Without expanded surgical capacity, emergencies (accidents, emergencies, severe infections) often result in worsened prognosis or death.

The Impact

Every minute matters in an emergency.

Currently, overcrowded facilities and limited infrastructure delay critical treatment. Many patients are forced to seek expensive private hospitals or suffer due to lack of timely care.

The upcoming Emergency Tower will substantially enhance JPMC’s ability to provide timely, life-saving emergency, trauma, and surgical interventions. Most critically, it will ensure equitable access to high-quality care for economically vulnerable patients who are unable to afford costly treatment in the private healthcare sector mostly from

• Rapid emergency triage and stabilization
• Advanced trauma and surgical care
• 17 modern operation theatres
• Expanded ICU and critical care units
• Diagnostic services including CT scan, MRI, X-ray, and labs
• Life-saving interventions available 24/7

With the new Emergency Tower, we will be able to treat 3- 4 times more patients, ensuring faster, more efficient, and completely accessible emergency care.
