Faysal Bank X Patients’ Aid ‘Bike a Cause 25’  Unites Karachi Kay Dost Against Breast Cancer

In a country where breast cancer claims more lives than anywhere else in Asia, silence is no longer an option. In Karachi, a wave of resilience and compassion swept through the city streets as Faysal Bank joined hands with Patients’ Aid Foundation for holding Bike for a Cause 2025, a powerful event aimed at creating awareness  of breast cancer along with raising funds for Free treatment of the economically disadvantaged women visiting JPMC.

Held at Cyberknife Department – Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), this initiative gathered hundreds of  seasoned cyclists to first-time riders, families, doctors, students, and survivors. Together, they pedaled not just for a cause, but for every woman who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or helpless in the face of breast cancer.

This wasn’t just a cycling event. It was a nationwide call to shatter the myths, stigmas, and financial barriers that keep women from accessing the care they need. It was a bold reminder that when we fight together, we give life a chance.

Cycling Together to Break Silence Around Breast Cancer

The event began early at 7:30 AM on 12th October, with cyclists groups from all over Karachi assembling at the main gate of JPMC. Participants carried placards and wore Patients’ Aid T shirts with Breast Cancer Awareness message. Winding through the city and ending at Cyberknife Department Courtyard of Jinnah Hospital, where attendees were welcomed into a heartfelt closing ceremony and scrumptious breakfast.

This wasn’t just about awareness. It was about changing the way society talks about women’s health, out loud, without fear or shame.

Voices That Inspired Real Change

Mr. Mushtaq Chhapra, Chairman of Patients’ Aid Foundation, opened the ceremony by reminding everyone of the organization’s mission: to ensure no life is denied medical care because of poverty. His words were a powerful reminder that healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege for the few.

The President of Faysal Bank echoed this commitment to change, speaking about the need to uplift women by addressing health disparities and encouraging corporate responsibility in humanitarian efforts.

Ahmer Nizam, Head of Business Planning Faysal Bank, emphasized that awareness is not just helpful, it’s life-saving. “We must speak about breast cancer in every home, in every city, no matter how remote,” he shared. “This is how we fight.”

Leading Sponsors Who Made This Movement Possible

None of this would have been possible without the generous sponsors who stood by this humanitarian cause including Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Sapphire, Sindh Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, B. Braun’s partner, Espresso, Bank Alfalah, Jubilee Life Insurance, Atlas Honda, National Foods, Bank Al Habib and official Media Partner: HUM News

Together, they backed a campaign that wasn’t just about riding bikes, it was about riding past fear, silence, and barriers to reach every woman in need.

  • Mammograms and breast cancer screenings
  • Biopsies and pathology
  • Surgical consultations
  • CyberKnife and radiation therapy
  • Post-treatment follow-up care

These services are provided completely free of cost to patients who would otherwise have no access. This is where hope meets action. Donate now to play your role.

Upcoming Women’s Wellness Project in Collaboration with Edhi Foundation

The commitment to women’s health does not stop here. Patients’ Aid is soon launching the Breast Cancer Bay,  a dedicated wing for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, in collaboration with the Edhi Foundation. This upcoming project will offer specialized care to women, especially those from rural and low-income communities.

This center will be a safe haven where women receive not only medical treatment but also dignity, education, and support, everything they need to reclaim their health and their lives.

The Role We Must All Play in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Every act of kindness counts. Whether it’s a donation, volunteering your time in an initiative like ‘Bike a cause’, or sharing life-saving information, you can make a difference. Breast cancer is not just a women’s issue. It’s a community issue, a national issue, a human issue.

The Holy Qur’an says:
"Whoever saves a life, it is as if he had saved all mankind."
(Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:32)

Helping someone get the treatment they need is not only an act of compassion, it is a Sadaqah Jariyah, an ongoing charity. It’s a gift that continues to give long after it’s made.
